TinyNotes ("the app") is developed by Petri Tynkkynen. This privacy policy describes how the app handles user data.
TinyNotes stores all of your content (notes, tasks, shopping lists, product details, images, files, and links) locally on your device. The app does not create accounts, does not require signing in, and does not upload your content to the cloud.
The app uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking, and the developer cannot see the content you store in the app.
The backup feature writes a zip file to your device or to a location you choose. You decide where that file is stored and whether you share it with anyone.
The app works mostly offline. Data leaves your device only in the following situations, and only when you use the feature in question:
Feedback messages arrive in the developer's email and are used only to reply to you and to improve the app. Feedback is not shared with third parties, is never used for marketing, and messages are deleted once they are no longer needed.
Providing an email address is optional; without it your feedback cannot be answered. Please do not include sensitive information in feedback. If you want your feedback deleted, use the contact details below.
The app requests the following permissions, each of which is needed only for the matching feature:
The place and radius of a location reminder are stored on your device and registered with Android's geofencing service, which triggers the reminder. Your location is not sent to the developer or to any third party.
The background location permission ("Allow all the time") is needed only so that a reminder also works while the app is closed. You can revoke the permission or delete your location reminders at any time.
The app uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking services. In the situations described above it relies on the following outside services: Open Food Facts (product lookups), OpenStreetMap (map images), and Google Play (payments and app updates). Their own privacy policies apply to the data they process.
Your content is stored in Android's protected app-specific storage on your device. Its safety also depends on your device's own security settings.
All network traffic, including sending feedback, uses an encrypted HTTPS connection.
We recommend backing up important data regularly with the app's backup feature.
All data stored by the app is removed when you uninstall it or clear its data in the Android settings. You can also delete individual items inside the app.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not collect personal data from users. The only information a user can send to the developer is voluntary feedback and, if they choose to add it, an email address.
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be communicated by updating this page and the update date.
